Vacant Home Retrofit, Drogheda
A vacant Drogheda home, brought back into use and up to a B BER.
Completed April 2026
The story
A whole home energy upgrade, handled end to end
Sandra was bringing a vacant property in Drogheda back into use, and wanted it warm, efficient and ready to live in rather than patched up bit by bit.
EnergyHaus took on the whole retrofit as one project. Retrofit Director Chris Bermingham coordinated every contractor and the order of works, so the insulation, windows and solar all fitted together and Sandra didn't have to chase separate trades. The home was wrapped in a continuous thermal envelope, the windows and doors replaced, and an all-black solar PV system added on the roof.
Solar PV, battery-ready
SpecificationTen high-efficiency all-black solar PV panels paired with a hybrid inverter and ready for battery storage.
The benefitThe system generates the home's own electricity, powers the daytime load and sends any excess to the grid, with a battery-ready foundation for later.
Triple-glazed windows and doors
SpecificationHigh-performance triple-glazed units replacing every window and external door in the home.
The benefitThe building is sealed against draughts and heat loss, holding warmth in, with better sound insulation as a welcome bonus.
External and internal wall insulation
SpecificationExternal wall insulation paired with internal dry-lining to reach good U-values across every wall surface.
The benefitWrapping the home inside and out got rid of cold spots and created a consistently warm, draught-free space all year round.
In their words
Sandra's review
"I highly recommend the Lennon company. The work was finished very well. High standard maintained throughout. I used them for the vacant property grant, and I am delighted with the finished work."
